LAUNCHING IN 2026
Sight exists to make great design accessible for nonprofits and small orgs while making sure student designers are paid and treated like professionals. We keep our pricing below market rates on purpose, but we refuse to do it by discounting student labor.
Designers do not get hired without proof. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says developing a portfolio is essential because employers rely on portfolios when making hiring decisions. That becomes a real problem when students are told to “get experience” first, but most entry-level opportunities want experience upfront.
At the same time, the Sacramento creative economy has taken real hits, and local creative workforce stability has been a growing concern in the region’s planning and research work. When the market tightens, new designers usually feel it first.
Sight was built to close that gap. We connect nonprofits with solid design, and we give student designers paid, supervised, real-client experience that actually strengthens their portfolio and their future.
We are not a template shop and we are not “cheap design.” Sight projects include creative direction and quality control so the work is consistent, usable, and ready to publish. Our packages are structured to keep scope clear, timelines predictable, and student time protected.
When you hire Sight, you are funding paid student work. That is the point. Our goal is to keep increasing the share of each project that goes directly to student pay as the studio grows.
We are actively pursuing grant funding so we can offset client costs and increase student compensation without raising prices.
The long-term goal is simple: nonprofits pay less out of pocket, and students earn more for the same high-quality work.
